Horticulture awareness programme

National Horticulture Board, Gurgaon conducted a one-day awareness cum training programme on recognition of horticulture nurseries at Classic Hotel today.
Speaking at the occasion as chief guest, Horticulture and Social Conservation Commissioner JC Ramthanga said that said that it was welcome step to educate the farmers on developing nurseries of different fruits.
He also urged the experts to provide all possible assistance and knowledge to the farmers.
Horticulture and Soil Conservation Officer-in-Charge Kh Ratankumar stressed on the need to set up a full-fledged nursery producing farm in Manipur.
While the Department's land at Mantripukhri has been largely affected by the Capital Project, nursery farms at Jiribam and Moreh have been remaining non-functional since past many years, he added.
National Horticulture Board Deputy Director rajbir Saroha, NHB Guwahati Deputy Director SK Singh, KVK Thoubal Programme Coordinator Dr M Thoithoi, KVK Bishnupur Programme Coordinator Dr RK Ibotombi and SBI RBO Imphal Chief Manager SP Sarmah also attended the programme.
