Speaking to media persons on the agitation, Kuki Inpi Manipur, Saikul Block president Thangkham Lupheng said that the block fully supports the KSDC's cause and the general strike is being enforced stringently.
Recalling the contribution of Kukis in the war of independence, Thangkham said that they were demanding only a separate State, not secession.
"We are demanding only our political and fundamental rights," he asserted.
He also appealed to all communities not to construe their demand in the wrong sense.

Even as Kuki UG groups have come under Suspension of Operation pact with both the Central and State Governments since the past few years, no serious attempt has been made till date to bring a political solution.
