Athuan Abonmai's father seeks justice

Athuan Abonmai was killed for advocating a united Manipur and not on personal ground, said father of late Athuan Abonmai, Namjinlungbou Abonmai while appealing the State Government to deliver justice at the earliest.
Namjinlungbou Abonmai made the appeal on the sidelines of a sit-in held at Tarung Khul.
The sit-in was also participated by Meira Paibis and residents of the locality.
He expressed gratitude to various sections of the society for lending support towards the call for justice and for sharing the pain and grief of his family.
While saying that the State Government is the guardian of the people, he urged the State Government to book the culprits at the earliest and deliver justice to Athuan Abonmai and his family members.
Participating in the sit-in, Meira Paibi secretary of Grace Academy Colony, Takhellambam Memcha said that the demise of Athuan Abonmai is a great loss for the State.
Athuan was an outspoken leader who worked for the unity and integrity of the State, she said while adding that the brutal killing of such a tall figure is condemnable at the strongest term.
Athuan played an important part in bringing up developmental activities in the locality and was at the forefront at the time of any problem or adversity, she recalled.
His demise has deeply pained all, she said while demanding the State Government to book the culprits and award befitting punishments.
Placards reading "We condemn brutal killing of Abonmai", "we demand justice", "no justice no rest", "no justice no peace", "Deliver justice at the earliest", "where is the law of land?", "Am I next ?" were also displayed by the protesters during the sit-in.
