Imphal, October 02 2021:
Tengnoupal battalion of IGAR (South) recovered textile items, betel nuts and Sarpagandha approximately worth Rs 1.35 crore near Khudengthabi in Tengnoupal district on Saturday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), troops of Assam Rifles observed movement of a vehicle loaded with suspicious items during an area domination operation.
Seeing the troops, the driver fled into the jungle leaving behind the vehicle.
On searching the vehicle, textile items, betel nuts and Sarpagandha were recovered.
The recovered items along with the vehicle have handed over to Customs Prevention Force, Moreh for further legal action, it added.
