Freedom Cycle Rally culminates at Rajghat

Imphal, October 02 2021:
The 3000-km Freedom Cycle Rally organised by Assam Rifles as part of "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" celebrations which started from Shillong on September 5 has culminated at Rajghat, New Delhi on Saturday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the rally touched important places associated with India's freedom movement en-route and covered the distance traversing through six states and one UT (Meghalaya, Assam, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh & Delhi) .
Along the 3000-km long route, the rally covered historically significant spots and birthplaces of heroes of India's freedom struggle, over a period of 27 days and also carried out numerous interactions with locals, freedom fighters and their families to include them in the spirit of "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" celebrations.
Further, as a mark of remembrance of the saga of bravery and sacrifice of India's struggle for independence, the freedom fighters and their NOKs were also felicitated by cyclists of the Assam Rifles.
It maybe mentioned that the Cycle Rally was flagged off by AR DC Lt Gen PC Nair from Headquarters of Directorate General of Assam Rifles in Shillong.
