44 AR organises 'yoga for wellness'

Imphal, June 19 2022:
As a prelude to the celebration of International Day of Yoga(IDY), 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/IGAR (East) organised a one-day yoga session at its Tamenglong headquarters.
In a release, PRO (Defence) informed that the session included a series of events comprising yoga for women, yoga quiz and lecture on yoga and its benefits.
The event Was held as a part of unit's ongoing "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" celebrations with an aim to create awareness and inspire "Mass Movement for Health and Well Being" through yoga.
Common Yoga Protocols, Yoga postures and demonstrations were some of the activities undertaken by the Battalion at the event.
Speaking on the occasion the 44 Assam Rifles commandant stressed on the importance of yoga in everyone's life and especially for women.
He said that, it is the day and age of the multi-talented and multi-faceted women who handle their professional and personal lives with utmost finesse.
Yoga is a best way to practice fitness during monsoons.
Regular practice of yoga can help women to maintain better physical and mental health, energy levels and self-esteem.
Even simple breathing techniques can also help to calm down and handle our multiple responsibilities with proficiency and poise.
