Training on 'Haiwaijar' making underway

Imphal, November 17 2022:
A three-day training programme, which is being organised by Central Agricultural University (CAU) on improvised methods of fermented Soybean (haiwaijar) production and other value-added products from soybeans, began at its Iroisemba conference hall on Thursday.
The inaugural function of the training was attended by CAU, Imphal Director of Extension Education Prof Ph Ranjit Sharma, College of Food Technology, CAU dean Prof Ng Iboyaima Singh and College of Agriculture, CAU dean Prof Indira Sarangthem as presidium members.
As part of the training programme, a low-cost soybean fermenter was also introduced to the participants.
The training programme is being attended by 60 farmers and members of Self Help Groups from Imphal East, Thoubal and Bishnupur districts.
