Inpui women celebrate NWU silver jubilee

Inpui Naga Women's Union (NWU) celebrated its Silver Jubilee under the theme "Weaving Dreams and Dignity" at Nungtek Part-1 village, Noney district headquarter on Thursday.
The event was held with Tamenglong MLA Janghemlung Panmei as chief guest, ex-ADC member Ramningle Pame as guest of honour, and NWU president Asha Wungam and Gailiangpou Gonmei as special guests.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Janghemlung while congratulating the Inpui Naga Women Union on its completion of 25 years of service to the society, called for self-introspection whether we are practicing Christian virtues.
The MLA challenged the gathering to go the extra mile to fulfil their dreams, adding, "We need to be united in every aspect and be a champion in whatever we do in this fast-growing and changing world".
Janghemlung then said that women leaders are doing great jobs, so the society needs many more such leaders.
He also called upon the Inpui women to be a part of national building activities and exhorted them to be God-fearing women.
He recalled his mother's testimony and called her a "mother of prayer and god-fearing woman".
Altogether, 15 federating units of Inpui Naga Women Union participated in the celebration.
The Jubilee's monolith was unveiled by Luriang Khumba and supplication prayer by Reverend Vaiton Inkah, pastor of Nungtek-1 Baptist Church.
Cultural dances performed by Puichi Women's Union and Ijeirong Women's Union enthralled the gathering, while Anutam Riamroi and Shungchamlu Bariam mesmerised the audience with their beautiful voices.
