Singngat police recovers 1.884kg brown sugar

Churachandpur, November 17 2022:
A team of Singngat police station on Thursday recovered suspected brown sugar concealed in 165 soap boxes.
Acting on a tip off and statements by some persons arrested earlier in connection with a drugs smuggling case, the police team led by OC inspector Thangpu Tonsing, SI Chinzasiam and ASI Hauliankhup conducted search operation along the route taken by the absconding co-accused suspects in connection with the seizure of 3.564kg of brown sugar The search operation led to the recovery of one gunny bag, hidden in the bushes of the forest in Lancha village area.
Upon inspection, 15 boxes were found in the gunny bag, with each box containing 11 soap cases of suspected brown sugar.
The seized contraband items weighed 1.884kg, which made up 5.448kg in total in connection with the referred case.
Further investigation is on to arrest all the involved persons in this regard.
