AR conducts friendly match, interacts with ESMs

Imphal, November 17 2022:
Khuga Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted a Friendly Volleyball Match for local youths in border village of Hiangtam Khunou, Churachandpur district on Wednesday.
A release by PRO IGAR (S) informed that the match was organised with an aim to promote Government of India's initiative of Khelo India amongst young generation of border villages.
The match was organised between the troops of Assam Rifles and youth of Hiangtam Khunou village.
The event started by educating the youth on the significance of sports in overall development of personality and character in young people.
Further, importance of sports in maintaining the health & fitness was also emphasised, added the release.
The friendly match was conducted in three sets and witnessed an unprecedented participation from the youth of the village.
Post the match, prizes were distributed and special gifts were given to two emerging players, it added.
Meanwhile, in another release the PRO informed that Churachandpur Battalion Assam Rifles organised an interaction with ex-servicemen (ESMs) of Singhat sub-division, Churachandpur district on Wednesday.
The interaction was organised with an aim to make ESMs and their families aware of the benefits of various welfare schemes promulgated by central government, Indian Army & Assam Rifles.
The interaction was also utilised to motivate the ESMs and their families to actively participate in constructive activities in their respective villages.
They were also requested to motivate and guide the youth of their villages to join the uniformed forces.
Further, grievances including documentation were also addressed during the pieet.
A total of 12 ESMs attended the event, said the PRO.
