Court extends Wairok Thappa's remand

Imphal, November 17 2022:
The court of Special Judge (PC Act), Imphal West has extended the police custodial period of Wairok Thappa Maring (59) of Lamlongei, who was arrested by Imphal PS in connection with an FIR registered under Section 13 and other sections of IPC, by four more days.
On Wednesday, Wairok Thappa was produced before the court with a prayer for extending the police remand for 6 more days.
The case IO submitted that Wairok was arrested in connection with an FIR registered under Sections 463 (forgery)/471 (use of forged documents or electronic records as genuine)/ 34 (common intention) read with sections 420 (cheating) of IPC and Section 13 (criminal misconduct by a public servant) of PC Act.
In accordance with the order of the Special Judge (PC Act), Wairok Thappa was formally arrested.
He was informed of the details of his arrest.
After listening to the report of the Special PP and the case IO, the court observed that IO1 s request for extending the remand period held merit and as such, remanded the accused to police custody for 4 more days till November 19 .
