Widows' Club formed, training conducted

Under the initiative of Widows' Foundation Manipur, a group of around 50 widows from different parts of the state converged at Moirangkampu on Thursday and formed Widows' Club Manipur.
A training programme on making detergent soap and liquid was also conducted as part of the inaugural programme of the Club, which was attended by United Goodwill Mission Manipur secretary Romesh Ningthoujam and Integrated Progressive Rural Development Organisation (IPRDO) secretary Laishram Sunder Singh as presidium members.
Speaking at the programme, Widows' Foundation Manipur president Priya Aheibam informed that the Club has been formed with the objective to ensure rights of the widows, help them in the upbringing of their children and live a decent life, While urging CSOs, NGOs, clubs and organisations to extend support in the initiative of the Foundation to establish such clubs in different parts of the state, she urged to contact Wall Club, Wangkhei Angom Leikai for further details.
Later, ingredients for making detergent soaps and liquids were handed over to Club members.
