Ragging case reported at JNV, Ccpur

A case of ragging has been reported yet again from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Tuinom in Churachandpur district.
The incident reportedly took place on the intervening night of September 25 and 26 .
According to sources, the incident happened when some students of class XII woke up students of class VI to VIII of the school while the junior students were in deep slumber and assembled them in an open held.
The senior students then thrashed the junior students black and blue.
One of the junior students was unable to bear the brunt of the thrashing and jumped into a well but was saved at the nick of time.
A similar case of ragging was reported at the same school sometime back and some Ccpur-based student bodies met the school authority demanding suitable action against anyone involved in ragging.
Ragging in the school came to light when a student of class IX refused to appear the final examination due to extreme ragging by seniors on March 15, 2022 .
Meanwhile, leaders of Siamsinpawlpi (SSPP) led by general secretary Thangzamang Ngaihte met principal S Sanamacha Singh on Tuesday and enquired about the fresh incident of ragging.
After a long discussion, the SSPP team suggested to the principal to conduct legal awareness campaign for students.
Leaders of Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Ccpur also visited the school on Tuesday and met the principal on the issue and raised concern over recurrence of ragging in the school campus.
