Sunday Market Street Vendor Welfare Association celebrates 12th foundation day

Labour Inspector, M Bheigyachandra has stated that plans are underway to develop a designated place for labourers in the Imphal area.
He made the above announcement while speaking as the chief guest at the 12th foundation day celebration of the Sunday Market Street Vendor Welfare Association (SMSVWA) at Manipur Press Club today.
He further informed that a proposal has been raised to the Government to develop a particular place for labourers/working class.
While maintaining that the working class community plays a major role for the welfare of a society, he said that one should acknowledge the numerous contributions of these people who have been promoting 'work culture' and should encourage them.

He also highlighted the need of formulating special policies for the working class community for their upliftment.
With regards to the labour welfare schemes taken up by the Government, he appealed to all concerned to avail such benefits.
The programme was also attended by SMSVWA president, Soibam Maniton, Advisors namely Ksh Shanti Leima, K Pakpi and Rani Leima as the presidium members among others.
During the programme, SMSVWA cards and ID cards were distributed to the members of the association.
