Imphal, March 27 2023:
While clarifying that it is not related with the proposed cease work strike of the mid-day meal workers which was announced through local media by an unknown organisation, All Manipur Mid-Day Meal Workers' Union has appealed to mid-day meal workers to discharge their duty and continue serving meals to students.
In a release, the union informed that a series of meetings were held with the education minister and the authority being urged to increase the wages of the mid-day meal workers, provide 12 months' honorarium in a year and improve their working condition.
The minister had also positively responded to the demands of the union and assured of taking up the matter with the union government.
Therefore, any proposed cease work strike would be irrelevant and unwanted at the moment, the Union said while appealing to the state government to release the honorarium of the mid day meal workers before the Cheiraoba festival.
