4,757 latrines constructed in state under SBM-G

In the year 2.022-23, a total of 4,757 individual household latrines and 118 community sanitary complexes were constructed in Manipur under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen (SBM-G).
In a written information given in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, Union minister of state for Jal Shakti Prahlad Singh Patel said that a total of 23,66,368 individual household latrines and 16,964 community sanitary complexes were constructed across the country in the year 2022-23 up to March 23, 2023 under SBM-G.The figure includes 4,757 individual household latrines and 118 community sanitary complexes constructed in Manipur in the same year under SBM-G.According to the minister, the Central share of funds allocated under SBM-G during the year 2022-23 up to March 23, 2023 to states and Union Territories was Rs 12,387.96 crore while a total of Rs 2683.05 crore had been released by the states/Union Territories and the ministry received Utilisation Certificate for Rs 4207.02 crore.
In respect of Manipur state, the ministry released Rs 51.45 crore under SBM-G in the same period and opening balance of the state as of April 1, 2022 was Rs 12.18 crore while Rs 12.86 crore had been utilised.
The ministry also received Utilisation Certificate for Rs 12.01 crore from the state, the minister informed.
He also stated that budgetary allocation for SBM-G during the year 2022-23 was Rs 5,000 crore (revised estimate) and budget estimate for SBM-G for the year 2023-24 is Rs 7192 crore.
He also informed that state/UT-wise fund allocation under SBM-G is made on the basis of demands submitted by the states/UTs in their annual Implementation Plans (AIPs) after their approval by the National Scheme Sanctioning Committee of SBM-G.State/UTs have submitted their AIPs for the year 2023-24 which are being discussed and accordingly state-wise allocation of fund for the year has not been done, the minister informed.
