Civic Action Programmes continue

The 69 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) conducted a Civic Action Programme to empower women in Langthabal Mantrikhong Thong Ahanbi village.
The programme, which aimed to train 10 local women in the art of handloom weaving and provide them with necessary equipment, was conducted from March 18-27, 2023, said a release issued by CRPF.
The closing ceremony of the programme held on March 27 was graced by Luckyson Kashung, Mission Director, Manipur Society for Skill Development and Joint Secretary, Government of Manipur; P K Nayak, DIGP (Ops/Int & Trg) Manipur & Nagaland Sector CRPF; Dr Khoirom Tomba Singh, managing director Maipakpi Hospital, Imphal; and P Loken Singh, Chairman MIDC/MSME, Government of Manipur.

Speaking on the occasion, Bajrang Lal, Commandant 69 Battalion CRPF elaborated on upliftment and self sufficiency of women through training and providing necessary equipment.
P K Nayak delivered an inspiring speech on development of women as entrepreneurs.
The event concluded with a dance performance by junior artists of Institute of Linda Folk & Classical Academy, Imphal, Lourembam Dollyka Chanu and Yumnam Lanchenbi Devi.
Moreover, as a part of the Civic Action Programme, 10 Battalion BSF conducted a free medical camp at CI Post Torbung Bangla on March 27 .
During the camp, the villagers were screened for various ailments including blood pressure, fever, diabetes, eye infection, etc, said a statement of BSF.
Free medicines were also provided to alling and needy peoples of S Kawtlian, Pengjang, S Bualjang, Laisang Torbung Bunglow, T Munjang, Kangvai, Torbung Haolai, Khopi Kalapahar and Tuilijang.
The battalion also distributed various items including sewing machines, solar lights, water storage tanks, PVC water pipes, incinerator machines, white boars with Easel and Dustbins, etc at CI Post Peace Ground, Churachandpur to the villagers of L Semoi, Saidan, Koite, Tuijang, etc.
The programmes were attended by by Dr P K Rai, DIG Medical 10 Bn BSF; Kuldip Raju, 2I/C; Karan Singh, Deputy Commandant; Gouri Shankar Bhardwaj, Deputy Commandant; Santosh Kumar Singh, Deputy Commandant and GS Munda, Assistant Commandant.
