CRPF-funded handloom training prog concludes

The 10-day training programme on handloom weaving conducted at Langthabal Mantrikhong Thong Ahanbi under the aegis of 69 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) as part of its civic action programme to empower women concluded on Monday.
A total of 10 local women who took part in the training programme were also provided necessary' equipment.
Among others, the closing ceremony of the programme was attended by Manipur Society for Skill Development mission director Luckyson Kashung, DIGP (Ops/Int & Trg) Manipur & Nagaland Sector CRPF PK Nayak, managing director of Maipakpi Hospital, Imphal Dr Khoirom Tomba Singh and MIDC/MSME chairman P Loken Singh.
As a part of the event, 69 battalion commandant Bajrang Lal delivered a speech on empowerment of women through training and providing necessary equipment.
DIGP PK Nayak also spoke on the importance of women entrepreneurship development as Luckyson kashung expressed his gratitude to the 69 Battalion CRPF for their commendable efforts in providing weaving' looms to needy women.
The programme concluded with cultural dances performed by Lourembam Dollyka Chanu and Yumnam Lanchenbi Devi, and junior artistes of Institute of Linda Folk & Classical Academy, Imphal.
The initiative of 69 Bn CRPF was appreciated by everyone, and it was acknowledged that it would bring economic independence to the lives of 10 families.
The unit's efforts to support needy families were also commended, according to a press release from the 69 Battalion CRPF, adding that the battalion also provided 10 wooden looms to the needy women to help them earn a sustainable livelihood.
