IBSD participates in Itanagar discourse

Imphal, March 27 2023:
Institute of Bioresources & Sustainable Development (IBSD), Imphal participated in a brainstorming programme on "Biore sources and Sustainable Development of Arunachal Pradesh" held at Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh on Monday.
The programme was organised under leadership of CSIR-North East Institute of Science & Technology, Jorhat, Assam director Dr Narahari Sastry.
As chief guest of the discourse, Prof Pulok Kumar Mukherjee, who is also the IBSD.
IMphal director, addressed the gathering comprising IBSD team and CSIR-North East Institute of Science and Technology.
Prof Mukherjee highlighted the unique bioresources for sustainable development in the state and developing ethno-entrepreneurship from bioresources.
He mentioned that IBSD has taken many initiatives for the development of bioresources and bioeconomy of NER.
Guest of honour Anong Lego, director of Agriculture, Arunachal Pradesh, welcomed all the delegates from different institutes and appreciated the initiative of IBSD for documentation and validation of traditional practices of Manipur in particular and NER in general.
During the event, experts from many institutes including scientists Dr Jatin Kalita, Dr Mohal Lal, Dr Pankaj Bharali (CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat), Dr Chandan Tamuly, Dr N Vehnurugan (CSIR-NEIST), Dr Pardeep K Bhardwaj (IBSD, Imphal), Dr Devendra Kumar (GB-PNHE, Itanagar), Dr Yeshpal Bhardwaj (RARI, Itanagar), Dr RK Taj (SFRI, Itanagar) and Dr Vineet Rawat (BSI Itanagar) shared their ideas for sustainable development of bioresources of the region.
Many students, traditional healers, entrepreneurs, NGOs, SHGs and beneficiaries also participated in the programme.
