BSF organises welfare, development activities

The 10th battalion BSF organised welfare and development activities including a free medical camp under its civic action programme at CI Post, Torbung Bangla on Monday.
During the medical camp, visitors were screened for various aliments including blood pressure, fever, diabetes, eye infection and also provided free medicines to ailing and needy people of S Kawtlian, Pengjang, S Bualjang, Laisang, Torbung Bangla, T Munjang, Kangvai, Torbung Haolai, Khopi Kalapahar and Tuilijang.
Approximately 154 civilians were provided medicines.
On the other hand, various essentials goods including sewing machines, solar lights, water storage tanks, PVC water pipes, incinerator machines and white boards with easel & dustbins were also distributed to needy local population of LSemoi, Saidan, Koite, Tuijang villages and Rengkai Government Higher Secondary School, CCpur; Gandhi Memorial Government Higher Secondary School, Molnom & Seilal UP School, CCPur in the event held at CI Post Peace Ground CCPur.
The activities were inaugurated by DIG Medical 10 BSF Dr PK Rai and unit's officiating commandant Kuldip Raju, deputy commandants Karan Singh, Gouri Shankar Bhardwaj and Santosh Kumar Singh, and assistant commandant GS Munda.
Kuldip Raju expressed happiness on getting the opportunity to provide such types of medical aids and to fulfil the needs of the local population.
He assured that the battalion will continue to serve the people of Manipur by carrying out such humanitarian activities in future under civic action programme, and added that 10 battalion of BSF has been trying to address the needs and requirements of the locals.
