Sit-in protests killing of Nilakanta

Imphal, January 12 2022:
Condemning the killing of Sagolshem Nilakanta, whose lifeless body was found on November 21, 2021, the JAC formed in connection with the unsolved case, staged a sit-in protest at Awang Wabagai community hall on Wednesday.
In a release, the JAC informed that several resolutions were adopted during the protest.
The resolutions include to banish and ostracise the perpetrators involved in the killing of Nilakanta.
While efforts are being made to find out the truth about the death, his family members including his wife Mukhra Devi (45), son Bidyasagar (22), Sagolshem Romariyo, Phuritsabam Shyamo Singh (65) son of late*Ph Sagar and Chabungbam Balashor Singh (21) son of Ch Gyaneshwor Singh have gone into hiding and police could not find and arrest them.
As such, people should not give shelter to them, but contact the nearest police station if they were located, the release said, while adding that the JAC will give reward to those who can give information about them.
