Prize distributed for FESOK painting competition

Imphal, June 15 2022:
Federal Students' Organisation Kangleipak (FESOK) distributed prizes for the state level painting competition organised in relation with World Environment Day on June 5, in a function held at Manipur Press Club, here on Wednesday.
AMWJU president Wangkhemcha Shamjai and FESOK president Romesh Ningthouja attended the function as chief guest and president respectively while KHASIL president Maibam Sunil and All Manipur Students' Guardians' Organisation general secretary Sougrakpam Sumati were present as guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, W Shamjai hailed FESOK for its various commendable activities since its inception in January this year.
He said that observance of World Environment Day in the form of painting competition for students is also an effective way of spreading awareness on conserving environment.
In his address, FESOK president Romesh said that the painting competition was organised with the objective to instil a sense of responsibility for environmental protection among the students so that they could take up environmental conservation activities.
He also called for paying more attention towards protecting tree saplings planted by different organisations or institutions so that they could grow up fully.
Around 1400 students participated in the competition, which was organised in three categories.
Cash prizes along with certificates, mementoes and tree saplings were distributed to winners of the
competition.
