Bandh imposed on J-T road

Jiribam, June 15 2022:
Denouncing the silence of State Government, the Chingdong Leikai Women Association has decided to imposed a bandh on Jiri-Tipaimukh (J-T) road in Jiribam district from 6am of June 16 to 6pm of June 19 .
Addressing a press conference held at Chingdong Leikai, A Gopimohan Sharma, president of Meira Club, Chingdong Leikai informed that that the decision to imposed the bandh was made following the failure of the State Government to heed to their demands to repair the J-T road.
Stating that a 48 hours bandh was also imposed on J-T Road over the same issue from June 12-14, he mentioned that the appeals of the people to repair the said road have been ignored for long.
A Gopimohan Sharma further cautioned that if the Government continued to ignore the plights of the people, the association would be compelled to impose an indefinite bandh on National Highway No 37 (Jiribam-Imphal) from 6 pm of June 20 .
It may be mentioned that the demand to repair J-T road has been endorsed by many associations/organisations of Jiribam namely AJUCA, JDO, AJMP, JIMPAL, WASED, WWOK, AMSU, MSF, DESAM, KSA and IPSA.
