ATDOA donates ₹ 20k for June 18 prog

Apunba Taxi Drivers and Owners' Association (ATDOA), Thoubal (Apex Body) distributed its I-card to its members at a programme held at Thoubal Bazar Auto Parking on Wednesday.
As part of the programme, ATDOA Thoubal (Apex Body) donated Rs 20,000 to the representatives of June 18 Observance Committee in connection with the Great June Uprising Day to be organised jointly by UCM and AMUCO on June 18.Speaking at the event, ATDOA Thoubal president Md Jalal announced that erstwhile, Apunba Auto Rickshaw Drivers and Owners' Association has been renamed as Apunba Taxi Drivers and Owners Association (ATDOA), Thoubal Manipur (Apex Body).
He mentioned that if any member of the Association is found indulging in abusing alcohol or drag then it will cancel the Memorandum of Promoters' List and Route Permit from Cooperative Office Thoubal along with not issuing them I-card and not allowing them to continue their service.
Md Jalal also stated that it will work for providing Labour Card (E-Shram) to the drivers and further encouraged the drivers and owners to pay their taxes and get insurance.
On the other hand, ATDOA Thoubal official Ningthoujam Jiban urged the chief minister, the transport minister and the director to exempt the taxes for the period of Covid-19 pandemic, while assuring that the Association will ensure that the pending taxes pre and post Covid-19 pandemic are paid.
He also appealed to the authority concerned to delay the fencing of footpath divider being carried out under widening of Asian Highway for Thoubal Auto Parking for some time and take it up after work for all other areas have finished.
