State delegation Delhi-bound for rally

Imphal, April 02 2023:
A large delegation of the state comprising farmers and scheme workers left Imphal for New Delhi on Sunday to take part in the Mazdoor Kisan Sangharsh rally to be held on April 5 in the national capital.
The Mazdoor Kisan Sangharsh rally is being jointly organised by Centre of Indian Trade Union, All India Kisan Sabha and All India Agricultural Workers' Union in protest against pro-corporate policies of Modi government.
The state delegation is being led by Manipur Loumee Marup secretary Sarat Salam, All Manipur Mid-Day Meal Workers' Union president Maibam Jamuna Devi and All Manipur Road Transport Workers' Federation convener Ksh Sopen Singh.
The main demands of the rally including hiking of monthly minimum wages for workers to Rs 26,000 and pension ampunt to Rs 10,000, fixing minimum support price for products of farmers as per Swaminathan Commission, waiving debt loan for poor peasants and agricultural workers at once, and stopping privatisation of PSUs.
