Imphal, April 02 2023:
The Loumi Kanglup, Lamphel has said they will not accept the fake land patta of their paddy land given to the Polo Association as a private property by a suspended ASO allegedly.
Speaking to media persons at Lamphel Sanakeithel today, general secretary of Loumi Kanglup N Ibohal said that they even pasted a paper to not encroach into the paddy land and put up sign boards as per the ruling of a Court 'but the members of the Polo Association tore/dismantled them' .
He also claimed that the members of the Polo Association destroyed many of their sheds against the order of the Court.
Ibohal appealed to the Government to take actions against the wrongdoers and let the Polo Association repair their sheds.
As per the Manipur Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland Act, 2014, conversion of paddy land as a homestead land and erection of houses and other structures are not allowed, he said.
"We support the initiatives taken up to protect the endangered horse breed pony but it is very unlikely that the Chief Minister will hand over the paddy land to the Polo Association," he conveyed.
