Kangpokpi, April 02 2023:
In denunciation of RIMS authority's failure to rectify alleged reservation discrepancies and nullify the LDC result, All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) has decided to go ahead with the agitation as announced earlier.
According to the ATSUM, the RIMS authority had deliberately feigned ignorance of the DoPT's OM for res ervation quantum of 34 per cent for ST since 2005 and the tribal people have been deprived of their rightful share in every job recruitment at RIMS ever since.
Therefore, a 12 hour state-wide total shutdown will be enforced from 6 am on April 4 in all the hill districts of Manipur, it stated.
However, emergency services shall be exempted from the purview of the bandh, stated ATSUM and appealed to the public for cooperation and understanding during the course of the agitation.
Mention may be made that, KSO and ANSAM had already conveyed their endorsement and support to the ATSUM in connection with the issue.
