"Congress trying to bring back true democracy"

In continuation of the Jai Bharat Satyagraha launched throughout the country by the Congress protesting against the conviction and disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha, Block Congress Committee (BCC) Sugnu president Moirangthem Debajit told media persons at Sugnu Makha Leikai community hall on Saturday that the BJP is trying to 'force rule' the country and levelling unfounded charges against Rahul Gandhi.
The BCC Sugnu will support all the activities taken up by Rahul Gandhi for saving democracy, he said while alleging that ever since BJP came to power in India in 2014, democracy has become meaningless in the country.
Nobody is allowed to .speak up or criticise the government.
Even opposition and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been convicted and disqualified as Lok Sabha MP.
In this connection, the Congress party along with various other like-minded political parties has been taking up various activities to save democracy in India and the people of Sugnu will extend support and cooperation in all such activities.
Block Congress Committee, Hiyanglam also organised a press conference at the Hiyanglam BCC office, Langmeidong during which BCC president Chandam Iboyaima said that the action taken Up against Rahul Gandhi is very unfortunate and people should support the protest demonstrations and campaigns launched against the unwanted incident.
Dr Huidrom Jiten, who was a former candidate of Congress from Hiyanglam assembly constituency, was also present during the press conference.
On the other hand, BCC Kakching organised a similar press conference at it Kakching bazar office wherein president Nongmaithem Ashok, advisor Shougaijam Leikhachandra highlighted the attempt of BJP to destroy democracy in India.
