The All Tribal Students' Union Manipur deeply condoled the demise of Former Minister RK Thekho who passed away last night.
According to ATSUM, the former Minister was one of the tallest leaders of the tribal people in the state.
He was instrumental in the formation of the only tribal political party, the Manipur Hills Union and served as its general secretary.
After retiring from active politics, he continued to serve the society in many capacities and was president of Adimjati Shiksha Ashram Advisory Board for many years.
He was also Chairman of Manipur Public Service Commission and also served his community as president of the United Naga Council.
His demise has left a great void in the tribal society as he was a leader who bridged two generations, it added.
The student body shared the pain and sorrow of the bereaved family.
