Photo fair on 'Thang-Ta for Social Change' held

Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) and Thang-Ta Day Observation Committee jointly organised a photo exhibition on 'Thang-Ta for Social Change' at the office of Thoibi Thang-Ta Cultural Association, Moirang on Thursday.
The programme was attended Moirang AC ex-MLA Mairenbam Prithviraj, Thoibi Thang-Ta Cultural Association president K Bidhu, KIMACS vice chairman Chungkham Ranbi, The Diligent Public School, Moirang principal Dr Bijarani and The Little Brothers School, Moirang principal M Deben as presidium members.
In his speech, Prithviraj observed that Thang- Ta is gaining popularity day-by-day, all due to the efforts and contributions of Thang-ta instructors and the enthusiasm of students and other young people.
"Although the world has advanced, we must uplift our unique identity, culture and customs or Manipur as we know it will cease to exist," he stressed and urged all concerned to help in preserving and promoting the lone martial art form of the state.
