COVID-19 positive cases rise by 78, death toll by one

Imphal, November 11 2021:
The State logged 78 fresh Covid cases including one CAPF personnel and one death in the last 24 hours.
With these figures, the cumulative Covid cases and the death toll have risen to 1,24,328 and 1,941 respectively.
The fresh cases were confirmed at RIMS (8), JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (67) while the positive cases from the general population are from Imphal East (22), Imphal West (30), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1), Chandel (1), Churachandpur (17), Senapati (2) and Ukhrul (1) .
As 1,845 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, the positivity rate thus updated on Thursday was 4.2 per cent, which is marginally higher than the 2.9 per cent updated yesterday, according to the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
Among the districts, Imphal East reported the highest positivity rate at 7.3 and it is followed by Imphal West (5.7 percent), Churachandpur (4.6 percent), Ukhrul (2.8 percent), Kakching (2.2 percent), Senapati (2.2 percent), Thoubal (1.7 percent), Chandel (1.4 percent) and Bishnupur (1.1 percent) .
The lone death, on the other hand, was reported from Imphal East.
The deceased was not vaccinated against COVID-19 .
So far, Pherzawl is the only district which has not reported any Covid fatality while Imphal West reported the maximum with 644 deaths.
Today, at least 40 persons recuperated from the disease, as per the bulletin.
The number of the active cases and the recovery rate now stand at 761 and 97.83 percent respectively.
Meanwhile, 292 D-type and 25 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health care facilities of the State while 8,088 Covid vaccine doses were administered yesterday.
Jiribam remains in the top spot on Covid vaccination as the district has fully vaccinated 48.31 per cent of its adult population and it is followed by Imphal West (47.82 percent), Kakching (42.93 percent); Imphal East (42.88 percent) , Chandel (39.09 percent); Bishnupur (36.96 percent); Churachandpur (34.98 percent); Thoubal (26.22 percent); Pherzawl (26.02 percent); Noney (22.74 percent), Tengnoupal (21.56 percent), Tamenglong (20.53 percent), Senapati (20.34 percent), Kamjong (16.21 percent), Ukhrul (14.35 percent) and Kangpokpi (9.44 percent) .
Overall, the State has fully vaccinated only 33.16 percent of its eligible population.
