HDRF mock exercise in Senapati concludes

The two-day mock exercise organised by National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF) concluded at Mini Secretariat, Senapati on Thursday.
The visiting team from NDRF 12th Bn, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, demonstrated on how to be prepared to minimise damages from strong earthquakes and extend help to injured persons in the natural disaster.
Briefing media persons, NDRF 12th Bn deputy commandant P Nupajao Singh stated that the theory classes for the mock exercise was completed on Wednesday.
Officials from Senapati district administration including police personnel and other volunteers participated in the classes.
The team demonstrated their roles and responsibilities in event of an earthquake.
The purpose of the mock exercise was to address the need to review the District Disaster Management Plan periodically.
The state government and all stake holders need to cooperate in handling such disasters, he said.
Such mock exercise will bring synergy among the state government agencies and the rescue teams, which in turn will facilitate to effectively tackle unprecedented situation.
It is also aimed to give awareness to the public on how the rescue team has been doing to save lives of injured during such disasters, he added.
The mock exercise also demonstrated on how to manage manpower, communication and resources to save the precious lives.
It also demonstrated the activities under the first response carried out by rescuers in occurrence of such events.
The programme was participated by DC Mahesh Chaudhari, Addl SP and other DLOs including Police and CRPF personnel.
The DC also thanked the team for their valuable display of mock exercise and drill to save lives when natural disasters strike.
