Cash incentive given to women's football team

Thangmeiband MLA Khumukcham Joykisan and Wangkhei MLA Thangjam Arunkumar presented cash incentives of Rs 1 lakh each to Manipur women's football team, which emerged as champions of the 36th National Games 2022 held in Gujarat recently.
The cash incentives were presented during a function held at Khoyathong Polem Leikai, which was also attended by officials of All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) and football lovers on Monday.
The cash incentives were handed over to team captain Ng Bala.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Joykisan informed that he loves football since his childhood and he will contribute whatever he could to promote football.
The MLA said that he has been a regular donor for the Manipur State League organised as a pilot project of AFC till the 15th edition and is always ready to promote women's football too.
Joykisan called upon MLAs, ministers, social workers and sports lovers to contribute whatever they could for the development of sports and consult with the government in providing government jobs to players, who have brought laurels for the state.
In his address, MLA Th Arunkumar also assured of his support in developing sports in the state including women's football.
He will always support any initiative of AMFA for promoting women's football, he added.
Ajruna award winning footballer Oinam Bembem and Lourembam Ronibala were respectively the coach and the manager of the state women's football team at the 36th National Games.
AMFA president M Ratankumar, secretary and other office bearers of AMFA also attended the function.
