CCpur, October 24 2022:
Proper procedure has not been followed for recruitment of six Grade IV posts and the same number of office assistants for the Churachandpur Medical College as the authorities concerned not only failed to make the recruitment public but also evaded the district employment exchange office for registration and completion of other formalities.
In this connection, a team of reporters on Monday tried to meet the director of the Churachandpur Medical College (CMC) but he was found absent from office.
In fact, the public are unaware about the existence of such vacancy as it has not been advertised in the newspapers by the authorities concerned as per the standard procedures.
In all probability, it appeared that had the recruitment notice not been leaked out, the authorities would have made a secret attempt to fill up the 12 vacant posts, thereby depriving deserving job seekers of the opportunity to give it a try.
The issue was brought to the notice of local MLA LM Khaute on Monday by the media persons who were joined by some Churachandpur-based social workers.
The MLA said that he raised the matter to the authorities who, in turn, informed him that the recruitment was only for the director's personal staff.
He then said that things should go as per government's rules so that all can apply.
Meanwhile, Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Churachandpur in a press statement said that the notification for the recruitment was issued on October 18, 2022, however it was not published in any newspaper nor was it made available to the general public.
The motive behind the recruitment notice surfacing from secondary sources is uncalled, the KSO said.
The student body said that while the organisation welcomed the various development aspects of the district under the initiative of chief minister N Biren Singh, it reiterated and sought the intervention of the authorities concerned and the state government to review and ensure all recruitment process is withheld for fresh notification as the recruitment process is without proper procedure.
Dr Sapam Ranjan, minister of health & family, during his recent visit to the medical college announced that the academic session would begin on November 15, 2022, however recruitment process for various vacant posts has not been initiated yet while only two weeks are left until the commencement of classes, it added.
