Imphal, September 06 2021:
Manipur Loumee Lup has informed that the Lup has made all the preparations to fully endorse the Bharat Bandh being called by Samyukta Kishan Morcha on September 25 against the government's alleged anti-farmer/people policy and favouring corporates.
According to Lup secretary H Ibobi Singh, Samyukta Kishan Morcha is a united platform for more than 400 farmers' organisations.
The Morcha launched a movement against the three Farm Bills that favour corporate houses and more than 600 protesters have lost their lives during the movement launched to uphold interest of the people and future generation.
However, the Narendra Modi government is yet to prepare for holding talk with agitating farmers even as the movement has completed almost nine months, he said and strongly condemned the Central government's indifferent attitude towards the agitating farmers.
The never-ending hike of prices on petrol, diesel and cooking gas by BJP led government, which could not survive without the blessing of corporate houses, have compounded suffering of common people amidst COVID-19 pandemic, Ibobi said, adding that millions of innocent civilians and middle-class families have been made poorer by government's corporate oriented policies.
To retain power, government promised to double farmers' income by 2022 but it is yet to take up any step to end the suffering of poor farmers, he added in the statement.
