Education minister, bodies condole; cash assistance extended

Imphal, December 22 2022:
Education Minister Th Basanta Kumar Singh and Lamlai MLA Kh Ibomcha as well as several political, student and civil organisations expressed their deepest condolences over the tragic death of students, warden and teacher of Thambalnu Higher Secondary School, Yairipok in an accident that occurred hear Longsai village in Noney district on Wednesday.
Lamlai MLA Kh Ibomcha also extended monetary assistance of Rs 5000 each to family members of the accident victims while office bearers of Shiv Sena Manipur state provided cash assistance to the injured ones and BOSEM officials handed over Rs 50,000 to RIMS authorities to meet the cost of treatment of the survivors.
In his condolence message, Education minister Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Manipur People's Party, Shiv Sena, National Cadet Corps Alumni, Imphal Group, All Manipur Gorkha Ex-Servicemen (Defence and CAPF) Association, Federation of Civil Society Organisation (FOGS) Manipur, Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi, Rongmei Naga Council Manipur, Heingang High School, National Students' Union of India, Manipur, Imphal East District Transport Union, All Manipur School Students' Transporter Association, Manipur Chan-ura Leishem Marup (Macha Leima), IPSA, ACOAM-LUP, IPAK, KSA, KANGLAMEI, KIL, CLK, Maharaja Bodh chandra College Students' Union, Umanglai Kanba Apunba Lup (UKAL), All Manipur Christian Organisation (AMCO), Socialist Students' Union of Manipur, Shiv Sena Uddhav Balashaheb Thackeray Manipur State Unit, Royal Academy of Law, Oinam, Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA), College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University, Imphal and Langol Lukhoi Thang-Ta Sin-dam Shang condoled the loss of lives in the tragic accident and observed two minutes' silence and candlelight service at their respective offices and institutions.
Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO) also organised candle light vigil at Nagamapal Kangjabi Leirak to condole the tragic deaths of students, teacher and warden of Thambalnu Higher Secondary School.
Floral tributes were paid and a minute's silence observed while praying for the departed souls to rest in peace.
The candle light vigil was also attended by TAKDO chief patron and Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykisan, among others.
Kakching Keithel Apunba Ima Lup also condoled deaths due to the Longsai village bus accident, organised candle light service and observed two minutes' silence at Irabot Park at Kakching Keithel on Thursday as mark of respect to the departed souls.
