AR commanders meet CM, hold discussion on L&O, drug issues

22 Sector commander along with commanding officer of Jwalamukhi Battalion of Assam Rifles on Thursday called on Chief Minister N Biren Singh to discuss key issues related to law and order situation and drug menace in the state.
22 Sector commander Brig Bikram Saini and accompanied by Jwalamukhi commanding officer Col Puneet Atwal met the Chief Minister at latter's office to discuss issues pertaining to the matters of internal security, drug menace and effective counter measures undertaken by Jwalamukhi Battalion of 22 Sector Assam Rifles.
Informing that the meeting was a testimony of the invaluable support rendered by 22 Sector and Jwalamukhi Battalion to curb the nefarious activities in Manipur, a source in the Assam Rifles said that under the aegis of headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), 22 Sector and its command battalions have been continuously working to achieve a happy and insurgency free environment and lend its support to the state.
The meeting was successful and key issues pertaining to law and order, drug menace and internal security were deliberately discussed, the source added.
