Seminar on "Skills and responsibilities of a grassroots level professional" held

National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD), Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Chennai, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India in collaboration with Asha Kiran, Manipur today organised a 1-day district level seminar on "Skills and responsibilities of a grassroots level professional" at JnNURM Community Hall in Kakching Sumak Leikai.
It was attended by Kakching AC MLA, Mayanglambam Rameshwar; L Dhaneshwar, Deputy Director, Disability Social Welfare Government of Manipur and K Gitchandra, SDPO Kakching as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, M Rameshwar stated that it is essential to bridge the gap between the communities to bring equal development.

He appealed to the Central and State Government to work out plans and initiate projects/schemes which would bring equal development to all without any differences.
He also highlighted the importance of the seminar which was conducted under the Flagship Programme for North East Region.
Pointing out the role of ASHA workers and women in bringing about a prosperous and healthy society, the MLA said, "PM Narendra Modi has initiated many projects/schemes to empower women in the country" .
L Dhaneshwar informed that the seminar was conducted with special focus on ASHAs and Anganwadi workers.
In the technical session, BB Paul Mential Home Mongshangei, special educator Supriya Paul, Nipuchandra and W Bimola delivered lectures on the topics, "Introduction to skills & responsibilities of a grassroots level professional", "Developing professionals from grassroots level" and "Reflecting challenges and problems for grassroots level professional in regards to disabilities" repectively.
A large numbe of Anganwadi workers and ASHAs from Kakching district took part in the seminar.
