Mortal remains head home for eternal rest

After completion of post mortem, mortal remains of all the nine victims of the tragic road accident at Old Cachar Road at Tubung Longsai Part III yesterday were handed over to their respective families today.
Notably, the victims included seven students of Thambalnu Higher Secondary School, Yairipok Top Chingtha.
A large number of people including family members and well wishers of the deceased students, teachers and warden came to JNIMS morgue and took the mortal remains to their respective localities for last rites.
Post mortem of Laishram Roma (17) d/o L Ram-chandra of Yairipok Sifai Leikai, Thangjam Ching-kheilembi (17) d/o Th Binoy of Yairipok Top, Konthou-jam Menaliya (17) d/o K Sanatomba of Khonthoujam Poirou Khongjin Yairipok, Moirangthem Dolly (18) d/o M Naoba Singh of Yairipok Top, Laikhuram Bita (18) d/o of L Ingocha of Yairipok Laimanai (succumbed at Raj Medicity), Loitongbam Athoi (16) d/o of Shagor of Yairipok Yambem (succumbed at Raj Medicity) and Phanjoubam Rita (17) d/o Ph Loken of Andro Khunou Karongthel was conducted in presence of a Magistrate together with the bodies of school teacher Sanasam Kishan (32) s/o S Khomei of Thoubal Sabaltongbi and warden Yumnam Mitkhubi (42) w/o Y Premjit of Yairipok Top.
Andro AC MLA Th Shyamkumar also visited JNIMS morgue and assured all possible assistance from his side to the bereaved families.
The mortal remains were taken to Thambalnu Higher Secondary School compound where people paid floral tributes before they were taken to their respective localities for the last rites.
On the other hand, the handyman of the ill fated bus has been discharged from Raj Medicity today while the driver is still undergoing treatment.
The handyman identified as Md Khomei (61) of Sekmaijin was discharged today while the driver identified as Thokchom Dinesh (41) of Khongjom is presently undergoing treatment at Raj medicity and his condition is said to be stable.
