AR conducts awareness drive, extends aid

Imphal, June 27 2021:
Chandel and Sajik Tampak AR battalions of IGAR (S) respectively conducted Covid and drug awareness programmes at Lamphu Cheru and Sajik Tampak villages in Chandel district on Saturday.
According to PRO IG-AR(S), the significance of social distancing, proper sanitation, maintaining hygiene and prompt action to be taken during emergencies were explained to the villagers during the Lamphu Cheru programme which culminated with distribution of sanitizers, masks to the villagers.
On the other hand, the drug awareness programme conducted in connection of International Day of Drug Abuse at Sajik Tampak was aimed at making the locals aware about the harmful effects of drug abuse on body and society.
During the programme, drugs & crime inter-relation and root cause of spread of various diseases were also adequately briefed to the villagers.
Meanwhile, Keithelmanbi Battalion of IGAR (South) distributed ration and essential commodities to Stepping Stone Rehabilitation Centre at Lilong on Saturday.
The distribution of essential commodities was conducted with an aim to assist the inmates of the rehabilitation centre amidst the challenging COVID environment, informed another release issued by PRO IGAR (S) adding that the aid was provided with adequate social distancing following all COVID protocols.
