Hair pin removed from bronchus at RIMS

Imphal, October 22 2022:
A team of doctors led by Professor Sunanda Haorongbam, Head of Department of Respiratory Medicine, RIMS Imphal successfully removed a foreign body (hair pin) which was impacted in the left main bronchus.
A press release issued by the Media Advisor, RIMS informed that Celina Lhingmeiting, an 8 year old girl, resident of Moreh, St George Church was referred from Moreh for removal of a foreign body from the lungs to RIMS.
She came with a complaint of productive cough for the past two months associated with one episode of hemoptysis and fever and radiologically foreign body (hair pin) was found impacted in the left main bronchus.
She was admitted in the Respiratory Medicine Ward, RIMS on October 13, 2022 and bronchoscopic removal was done successfully on October 18, 2022 .
The bronchoscopic removal was carried out with the help of anaesthesia team and nurses.
The patient party wholeheartedly thanked the team of doctors and nurses of the said department, RIMS and also appreciated their service.
