Youth meet at Thingkangphai concludes

A two-day Youth Meet - Youth Campaign and Music/Cultural Exchange programme organised by National Foundation for India (NFI) in collaboration with the LLPA Youth Department, ECA at Thingkangphai concluded on Saturday.
The youth meet was organised under Sustainable Development Goals No.3 (good health & wellbeing), No.5 (gender equality), and No.16 (peace, justice & strong Institution) .
Around 200 youths from different villages came together to create a bonding through sports (football & volleyball) with the motto "Play for health, fun and a better career" .
There was also a session on self-awareness through music, using music and songs as a tool to help the youth be aware of themselves and become conscious citizens.
During the night session, Rev Letkholen Chongloi, Rev Ngamkholal Haokip and Hejang Misao spoke on the topics like gender equality, peace and justice.
Rev Ngamkholal Haokip exhorted the youth to learn to appreciate and accept others in order to have positive thinking and inner peace while Hejang Misao said: "Biologically we are made to be different but not culturally, so it is high time we relook at our cultural norms and do necessary rectification and modification" .
"Let us start seeing women as humans, not as properties, and accord them due love and respect", Hejang added.
