SFs nab active cadres of KYKL,UKRA

A combined team of special commando, Khabeisoi unit and troopers of 43 AR arrested an active cadre of the proscribed KYKL from near Sunrise Ground, Moreh Ward No.4 on Saturday.
The arrested cadre has been identified as Nameirakpam Mani Singh alias Joy (37) son of (L) N Tejo Singh of Jiri Patchao Chingdong Leikai, Jiribam.
According to police, the combined team on frisking and checking duty near Sunrise Ground observed a man crossing into Indian side from Myanmar around 5am.On approaching the checking point and seeing the combined team, individual tried to escape and run away towards Myanmar.
The combined team acted swiftly and overpowered him near the Sunrise ground and arrested him.
On verification, the identified self as Nameirakpam Mani and that he is an active cadre of KYKL, who joined the outfit through one overground worker named Surjit Singh in August 2010 .
He underwent 45 days basic military training at Thanan camp in Myanmar under the command of self-styled sergeant major Mani Singh, he added.
The captive further confided that he is presently holding the post of self-styled sergeant of KYKL with army no 0566 of batch no 30.The arrested cadre has been handed over to Moreh police station for further necessary legal action, it added.
Meanwhile, Keithelmanbi and Moreh battalions of IGAR (South) in a joint op eration with Manipur Police reportedly apprehended a cadre of the armed United Kom Revolutionary Army (UKRA) from Ichum Moriah village in Kangpokpi district on Friday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the combined team launched an operation that led to nabbing of the UKRA cadre, who has been handed over to Nambol police station for further investigation.
