CRPF organises blood donation camp

109 Bn CRPF in association with RIMS transfusion medicine department organised a blood donation camp at its 109 Bn CRPF HQ Mongsangei on Friday under the aegis of IG, CRPF, Manipur.
R Bal Krishna, commandant 109 Bn CRPF, inaugurated the event in the presence of Dr Phaomai Kiron Khon, CMO SG, Sandeep, second-in-command 109 Bn, Alex L Kophom, AC, Abonmai Kaipou, AC, Dr Thounaojam Kanta Singh, Unit MO of 109 Bn, subordinate officers, jawans and Dr Barindro Sharma, HOD, department of transfusion medicine, RIMS Hospital, Imphal, along with his team.
In his inaugural speech, the commandant emphasised the need and importance of organising such event and motivated all the troops of 109 Bn CRPF to donate blood as a mission to a slogan "Blood Donor Life Saver".
The event was organised as a gesture of noble deed to enhance the availability of blood and save life.
According to a release, response from the personnel and officers of 109 Bn CRPF was overwhelming.
After proper requisite screening of all the voluntary donors, R Bal Krishna, commandant, Abonmai Kaipou, Alex L Kophom and subordinate officers and jawans (a total of 33 personnel) donated blood.
On his conclusion note, Dr Barindro Sharma, HOD, (DTM, RIMS) expressed his heartfelt gratitude and congratulated the team of blood donors of 109 Bn CRPF for making the eVent successful, added the release.
