Covid scare wanes as dry spell continues

Imphal, May 14 2022:
People seem no longer scared of Covid-19 as the state continues to witness dry spell of new CoVid-19 positive cases as well as new death cases related with Covid.
Saturday also reported no new positive or death cases though 112 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
The toll remains at 2120 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated people, out of which 61 had received second doses of Covid vaccine.
Out of the eight active cases, 3 (37.50 per cent) are in home isolation.
So far, the state has recorded 11,442 positive cases and 118 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 10 new positive cases and zero fatality.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 5 and 0 respectively.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,37,230 (general population - 1,32,216 and CAPF personnel - 5,014) while recovery rate is 98.45 per cent.
A total of 104 D-type and 4 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
With the administration of 2091 vaccine doses on Friday the cumulative number of vaccinated people reached 15,62,795, out of which 12,15,208 had received the second doses and 90,661 taken precautionary doses.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,225 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,685 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,19,267 tests per million population against the national average of 5,99,860 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent and cumulative positivity rate 8.52 per cent.
