National Lok Adalat conducted all over State

As per the calendar of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) in association with High Court Legal Services Committee and District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) on Saturday organized the second National Lok Adalat for the year 2022 at various places of the state.
National Lok Adalat for Imphal East and West districts was jointly organized by MASLSA in association with Imphal East & Imphal West DLSAs at Lamphel Court Complex, said a release issued by MASLSA.
National Lok Adalat was also held at Bishnupur, Thoubal, Ukhrul, Senapati, Churachandpur, Chandel, Tamenglong, Tengnoupal & Jiribam districts and in the High Court of Manipur.
In the Lok Adalat for Imphal East and Imphal West districts, 5 benches consisting of Judicial Officers and Advocates were constituted.
The Lok Adalat was conducted in physical/offline mode for all pending Court cases as well as pre-litigation cases.
Cases relating to bank recovery, civil disputes, family matters (except divorce), insurance matters, domestic violence cases, BSNL bill cases, NI Act (cheque bouncing cases) were put up.
The High Court Legal Services Committee also organized National Lok Adalat at High Court of Manipur complex wherein one Bench comprising of G Gaiphulshillu, Registrar General, High Court of Manipur as chairperson; Yumkham Rother, Registrar (Judl), High Court of Manipur & K Brajakumar Sharma, Joint Director, Manipur Judicial Academy as Members was constituted.
For the National Lok Adalat held at the High Court of Manipur, 6 civil cases were put up and out of which, 1 Civil Revision Petition case was settled with a total settlement amount of Rs 22 lakh.
It may be mentioned that a total of 573 cases were taken up, out of which 461 cases which included 25 cases pending in the Courts including Motor Accident Claims Cases were settled.
Meanwhile, Justice Lanusungkum Jamir, Judge, High Court of Manipur & executive chairman of MASLSA also visited the National Lok Adalat held at Thoubal Court Complex for the districts of Thoubal & Kakching, and at Lamphel Court Complex.
It may be mentioned that the second National Lok Adalat for the year 2022 will be held on August 13 .
