Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (RD&PR) Minister Yumnam Khemchand today made a field inspection of the road construction works being undertaken in Chura-chandpur district under PMGSY.
The official team led by Y Khemchand made a direct inspection of the Hengkot-Boljang Part II road which is 7.50 Kms long and the 6.20 Kms long Ukha Tampak-Gothol road.
The team also included Churachandpur AC MLA LM Khaute, Henglep AC MLA Letzamang Haokip, Saikot AC MLA Paolenlal Haokip, Thanlon AC MLA Vungzagin Valte and Additional Chief Secretary MH Khan.

Khemchand said that the two roads were listed under the new Government's 100 days action plan.
Underscoring the importance of roads in any human civilization, Khemchand asserted that roads should be common property of all the people.
He also called upon all concerned to work responsibly so as to maintain proper quality of works.
Noting that little portions have been left out of the road construction work, the RD&PR Minister assured that these portions would be completed before the 100 days is completed.
On being enquired about compromising the quality of PMGSY works implemented in the valley, Khemchand claimed that maintenance work of roads has been initiated but the same work cannot be always taken up on time if the necessary funds are not released by the Centre.
He said that road maintenance works would be taken up at different places across the State once the rainy season is over.
