Imphal, May 14 2022:
The National Highway Infrastruc-ture Development Corpora- tion Limited (NHIDCL) has assured that the collapsed Irang Bridge would be restored within one month.
A team of the All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers Union led by its general secretary Maimom Anil made a spot inspection of the Irang Bridge at Taobang village along Imphal-Jiribam highway which collapsed on May 12 following incessant rainfall and subsequent rise in the water volume of Irang River.

The team also held a meeting with NHIDCL Project Manager Ankid who reportedly told them that NHIDCL would put in all efforts to restore the collapsed bridge within one month considering the hardships being faced by drivers and transporters plying on Imphal-Jiribam highway.
Some representatives of the All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers Union called on Chief Minister N Biren yesterday and the Chief Minister too assured that Irang Bridge would be restored as soon as possible.
