Sit-in protests Telipati blast

Condemning the IED blast at Khurai Telipati on Friday night that left a person injured, local residents staged a sit-in protest at Telipati on Saturday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, Vaishya Youth Club secretary Sitaram Sahoo expressed deep concern that bomb explosions have been occurring frequently in Telipati area neither government authorities have not been able to arrest anybody in connection with these attacks nor one claimed responsibility till date.
Recalling that the government has been assuring of arresting all those involved in blasts many a times, Sitaram contended that the government never translates its promises into reality.
It is still unknown whether the bomb attack was politically motivated or not, he said and demanded that government arrest all those involved in the bomb attack at the earliest and punish them accordingly.
In denunciation of the bomb attack, shops run by Teli community in Paona Bazar downed shutters.
Meanwhile, Manipur Police carried out search operation at several places of Imphal West District on Saturday following the bomb blast at Telipati on Friday night.
According to a police report, Imphal West District Commando searched Thangal Bazaar, Jalan junction, MG Avenue, Major Khul and Sani Mandir areas from 3.40 pm till 4.20 pm on Saturday.
In all, 190 people who were present in the area were verified one-by-one but there were no reports of any arrest made.
