Kakching, November 29 2021:
Jan Jagran Abhiyan (public awareness campaign) launched by the Indian National Congress (INC) since November 14 across the country against rising prices of essential goods during the rule of BJP government was also conducted in Kakching AC on Monday.
The campaign in respect of Kakching assembly constituency was held at the Kakching Mayai Leikai residence of INC intending candidate Yengkhom Nilachandra.
The campaign organised by Steering Committee of Nilachandra was also attended by District Congress Committee president Elangbam Manglem, Kakching Block Congress Committee president Kshetrimayum Ibohal, general secretary Leishangthem Brojen, Kakching Municipal Council ex-chairperson Moirangthem In-akhunbi Devi and NSUI Manipur president Md Kabir Ahamad as presidium members apart from the intending candidate.
In his speech, Nilachandra said that increasing prices of goods particularly essential commodities have severely affected lives of the people.
Demonetisation was done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to abolish black money but the black money increases during the tenure of the BJP government, he said, adding that there is no meaning of democracy in the country as people who utter a single word against the government are being arrested.
As election is approaching, people need to teach befitting lesson to those responsible for making the people suffer, he said and urged people to work collectively to defeat BJP in the upcoming elections.
